This is a drawing that I have done of our horse Asti who is a 18hand Shire and our farrier known as Stretch.
There is such a art in the shoeing of the horse. The farrier plays such a very important roll in our business Rubicon Valley Horse Treks ensuring their feet are in perfect condition for the terrain we trek over and stretch has many valuable years in the industry. It is amazing to watch as he interacts with the horses gaining their trust allowing him to trim and fit their shoes in a manner that is of no stress to them. Such a delight to watch that I was inspired to capture the moment of trust to share with you.

This s a drawing of our majestic clydesdale stallion Duke. Duke arrived at Rubicon when he was 12 months old. We have spent many hours interacting and training him as he has grown into a majestic horse standing at over 18 hands high. The clydesdale horse is known for their gentle nature and Duke is definitely the most gentle horse which I have endeavoured to capture in this drawing. Landscape painting of the Waimakarriri River which is only 10 minutes from my home and is the backdrop of our Tourist Centre. This view is where our horse treks stop for taking time to partake in refreshments before descending the terraces. The Waimakarriri river runs from the mountains out to sea. This braided river is well used for boating and recreational fishing and is a beautiful site to see from the Lookout Point.

Her mum was amazing and all chicks survived the cold winter and are now nearly ready to start laying those precious fresh eggs.

Stripes is one of our pet sheep that now lives at our tourist centre where he entertains our daily visiting tourists allowing them to feed him sheep nuts and posing for photos. Our grand daughter lovingly looked after stripes when he was orphaned at birth and gave him his name stripes. Stripes has a special nature and loves interacting with people.
